Daddy Boot Camp for Fathers-To-Be

ForeverDads is hosting its monthly boot camp for new dads this weekend.

It’s a program to teach fathers how to care for their new child.

Executive Director Burl Lemon said the program is a great opportunity for dads-to-be.

"It’s really a neat time for men to get together and just spend some time sharing about what it is to be a dad, to celebrate it and at the same time, learn from it from men who have been there recently who have done it; real men, and I think that’s the cool thing about it," said Lemon.

Lemon said veteran dads who have gone through the program will also return to provide insight and answer questions.

"He brings his baby from recent birth and he shares about how he survived, he survived the delivery and he also shares about the things he learned, about how to change the diaper, how to manage those late nights when the baby screams and it’s ok to lay the baby down and let him cry it out," added Lemon

The program is free to all Muskingum County dads through a grant from the Ohio Children’s Trust Fund.

Those interested in the boot camp can visit or call the Genesis NurseLine at (740) 455-4949.
