An area ministry is hoping to hit it big this weekend during an annual fundraiser.
Tickets are still on sale for Eastside Community Ministry’s annual "Riverboat Night" which takes place Friday from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. at Eagles Sticks in South Zanesville.
Development and Youth Program Director Joey Osborn said participants who arrive receive an envelope of ‘play money’ for traditional riverboat games, such as roulette poker and blackjack.
"All of the proceeds benefit the Operation of Eastside Community Ministry, so when people come and support this event, they’re helping us to operate our food pantry, our clothing bank and our youth program throughout the whole year," said Osborn
At the end of the evening, participants will be able to turn in their winnings for tickets that will go towards several grand prize drawings including a VIP package of signed jerseys and hats from Houston Rockets star and Zanesville native, Kevin Martin.
"We have $19,000 worth of grand prizes to give away, everything from an iPad, to some Caribbean trips, a homemade quilt, a VIP package from Kevin Martin, lots of really nice things," added Osborn.
Osborn hopes to raise at least $10,000 for Eastside Community Ministry.
