Football Teams Have First Live Action

For the first time since they were allowed to schedule three scrimmages, the Zanesville football team did just that as they opened up their preseason slate earlier this morning against Coshocton.

The Blue Devils, who are coming of a 6-4 2011, got to compete against a perennial playoff contender and came out of the test pretty well. The two sides played full speed seven on seven drills before lining up and running offensive plays as a team before ending the scrimmage. For Coshocton it was a chance for the young players they have to get some experience while for Zanesville it was their first look at a full speed offense and defense coming at them.

There are more scrimmages scheduled for this week with teams opening up their seasons the weekend of August 24th.
