A man was taken to the hospital and a woman was arrested after a car crashes into a building.
Zanesville Police and Fire, Community Ambulance and Genesis Police responded to the scene at 3-79 Adair Avenue, just after 7.
Zanesville Patrolman Joel Tignor said that a white Ford Windstar carrying a male and female, failed to negotiate a right turn from Adair to Central Avenue and crashed into a building housing Genesis Healthcare Systems’ Medical Records Building.
Tignor, along with multiple witnesses at the scene, say the woman then fled the scene of the accident on foot.
She was later arrested near Thurman Street and Euclid Avenue and is facing charges of leaving the scene of an accident.
The man was transported by Community Ambulance to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Tignor said there are conflicting stories as to who was driving the vehicle, but the driver will be cited with failure to control and additional charges may follow pending the outcome of the investigation.
Tignor said impairment is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
No other injuries were reported, and the crash remains under investigation.
