It’s already time to start thinking about flu season.
Once again the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department is teaming up with Rambo Memorial Health Center. Health Commissioner Corey Hamilton said a flu shot clinic will be held on October 11th.
"Flu shots are very important, because they help cut down on the spread of disease," said Hamilton. "The flu is a highly contagious disease."
The shots will be administered at three locations on that day including the Muskingum County Fairgrounds, the Dresden Fire Department and the Harrison Township Fire Department.
"It’s probably more of a problem for the very young or the very old, but the less people that we have contract the disease, the less of a problem it will be in our community," said Hamilton. "We would really like to make sure that everybody gets immunized."
The immunizations will cost $5 for Muskingum County residents, $15 for those who don’t live in the county, and free for Medicare and Medicaid patients.
