Those working this labor day were recognized for their service.

Olive Garden delivered free lunch to the Zanesville Police Department as part of "Hospitaliano". Those who work in an operation that is open twenty-four hours, seven days a week were very grateful for the free meal and recognition.

"We really appreciate what they did because even though we’re not home with our families enjoying a picnic or a cookout or a family reunion this really made us feel good," said Lt. Bill Shaw of the Zanesville Police Department.

Every week Olive Garden delivers lunch to businesses around Zanesville but receiving the food on a national holiday makes it even more special.

"This community has always thought of us at Christmas time, Thanksgiving, different holidays and Memorial Day and Labor Day are sort of special because those are traditionally the family picnic, the end of summer, the beginning of summer things and we do miss out on that. So we really did appreciate this," said Lt. Shaw.

Hundreds of Olive Gardens across the country delivered Hospitaliano lunches to local fire stations and police departments this Labor Day.
