A Cry Out America prayer gathering was held outside the Muskingum County Courthouse Sunday.
The purpose of the prayer event is for the public to gather together as believers to pray for the nation and to remember the fallen of 9/11.
"It’s centered around that and it’s centered around prayer for people across this nation because there’s so many things going on in the nation and people are hurting and there’s a lot of division now. I just think we really to get back to loving one another and working together," said Event Coordinator Amy Moore.
Moore says she has been blessed to be a part of Cry Out America. Members of the Zanesville Fire Department, sheriff’s office and bikers from Rushing Wind Biker Church attended the gathering. Moore hopes that the message they received sticks with them.
"I hope that when they walk away from this today that they’ll have a commitment in their heart to keep on praying, to keep on believing in the greatness of America and to believe that we are a Christian nation that we need to keep these things in the forefront," said Moore.
Moore requested those in attendance to say a silent prayer on Tuesday to remember those lost on 9/11.
