A rollover crash on Interstate 70 eastbound in Guernsey County sends five people to the hospital.
The accident happened around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday just before the U.S. 22/ U.S. 40 Cambridge exit.
"A blue ’93 Chevy pick-up ran off the left side of Interstate 70 eastbound essentially at milepost 173. The vehicle went into the median, overturned at least one of the occupants was ejected," says Trooper Charles McDonnell, Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The driver of the vehicle 35-year-old Chanda Shultz of Zanesville, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries. Her husband, 42-year-old Darrin Shultz, and a 7-year-old girl were also taken to Good Samaritan with minor injuries.
An 11-year-old boy, who was ejected from the truck, was taken by ambulance to Children’s Hospital in Columbus. A 14-year-old boy, who was in the back seat, was taken by Med Flight to Children’s Hospital with severe head and facial injuries.
Mrs. Shultz was cited with failure-to-control.
