The Zanesville Noon Rotary Club is giving back to needy people the community.

The club purchased a hog from the Muskingum County Fair, had it processed and then donated the meat to Christ’s Table.

Rotarian John Parker said sausage and pancakes were served Wednesday to those who walk in the door as well as homebound meal recipients.

"I understand that Christ’s Table will do about 400 meals in a day and with the homebound and people who come in," said Parker, and I understand that they will just about use the whole thing today for them."

Parker said the donation reinforces Rotary’s mission of service above self.

"We probably take a lot of these things for granted," added Parker, "and I don’t know that anybody in this room is hungry right now, but that’s not the case for everybody, is it?"

Executive Director of Christ’s Table, Keely Warden said in August, the organization served meals to more than 10,000 people; the most ever in its history.
