Families and military personnel will be able to celebrate together in one place.
All military past and present and their families across the state of Ohio are invited to take part in the military family fest Saturday at the Zanesville Municipal Airport. The Ohio Flags of Honor will be there to honor fallen soldiers from Ohio.
"The Flags of Honor of course honors all of the soldiers that have died during the War on Terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq so there’s almost 300 we’ve lost in Ohio that there’s a flag placed for each soldier as we call their names," said Tri-County Gold Star Mothers President, Barb Lloyd
This family fest provides a chance for soldiers to connect with other military personnel and their families as they remember those they’ve lost.
"No one wants to ever forget their loved one that they’ve lost but because it’s been such a public thing, losing your son in this war it’s always good to not only recognize the sacrifice but to remember them," said Lloyd.
The activities begin Saturday morning in hanger seven with the presentation of the Flags of Honor at eleven a.m. Congressman Bill Johnson and State Representative Brian Hill will speak during the ceremony.
