Auditions for an annual holiday show are underway in downtown Zanesville.
It was day one of auditions for the "Angel Tree" benefit show at The Renner on Seventh Street.
The performance supports the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree, which helps low income children during the holiday season.
"They take children from the community that might not otherwise have a Christmas and they take applications and then they round up monies and gifts so these children can have a Christmas," Tolliver said. "Our philosophy is basically that if a child has a wish come true, if they believe in something and it’s fulfilled then that gives them faith, no matter what level that’s on it’s a good thing and it’s good for the community."
This year’s show will be centered around an actors retirement home and will feature a swing band that will be on stage for most of the performance.
"We’ll have a lot of instrumentation and a lot of that kind of music that goes along with it and a lot of traditional music as well," added Tolliver.
Anyone interested in trying out for a part can stop by The Renner Monday night at 7.
Everyone who auditions will get a role in the show.
