The 161st annual Coshocton County Fair is underway.
Many people are familiar with the fried food, carnival rides and animal shows, but the art hall is a hidden treasure at the fair. Bob Buxton has been on the Coshocton County Fair Board for 34 years and he oversees the exhibits.
"We have a quilt display, we have needlecraft and these are all hobbies by both adults and children," said Buxton. "We have the wood carvers displays and we have candy as part of the baking contest. We have a really nice display of antiques over on the other side."
Ribbons are awarded for first, second and third place as well as best of show. Buxton said it’s easy to spend a few hours admiring all of the artwork.
"We have many talented people here," said Buxton. "Just go down and look at some of the pictures that people painted. The pencil drawings and other types of art are just really neat."
The Coshocton County Fair wraps up on Thursday. The schedule of events can be found at www.coshoctoncountyfair.org.
