Authorities in Perry County are seeing positive results since joining a multi-agency drug task force.
In November of 2009, the Perry County Sheriff’s Office joined forces with the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force.
The CODE Task Force is made up of law enforcement agencies from Coshocton, Licking, Muskingum and Perry counties.
Sheriff William Barker says since joining the Task Force, Perry County has seen a drastic increase in the number of drug related offenses being investigated and the amount of drugs being taken off of the streets in Perry County.
Here’s a look at some of the combined statistics since teaming up with the CODE Task Force:
- Total Amount of Drugs by Pound Seized: 523 pounds
- Total Doses of Prescription Drugs Seized: 2,864
- Total Monetary Value of Assets and Drugs Seized: $2,366,594.00
Since 1993, the Sheriff’s Office has seized nearly 17,000 marijuana plants with a total street value of around $16.8 million .
