Local attractions get a look at how to bring in business from around the state.
Tourism Ohio made a visit to Terra Cotta Vineyards in New Concord to speak to area hotel operators, attractions and visitors bureaus to tell them what have to offer to bring in business.
"There are so many things. The web now is a huge entity with social media and Facebook. We want to make sure they are on Facebook and make sure they are getting on Twitter, make sure they are getting their photos out, there information out and make sure they are on our website," said Interim Director of Tourism Ohio Pat Barker.
Tourism in Ohio is a $40 billion industry so Barker said it’s important to promote attractions to not only people in the state, but those outside of it.
"Our team travels to New York City and all over the country to talk to editors at publications and let them know what the trends are," explained Barker. "We let them know what the great new food restaurants, what are the wonderful wineries. Wineries in Ohio have grown like gangbusters and our wine is winning awards all over the country."
Barker said that autumn attractions are big right now including visiting state parks and enjoying the day at a pumpkin patch.
