Ohio is making the final push to register people to vote.
Tuesday is the last day to register to vote and all of the state’s 88 county elections boards will be open until 9 p.m. As soon as doors opened at the Muskingum County Board of Elections, voters have been steadily coming in.
"Right around sixty voters have come through and actually voted and then there’s other people who have changed their address. I figure it will be at least triple that before the day is over with," said Board of Elections Director Chris Hamill.
The Board of Elections also mailed out over 8,000 absentee ballots and a little over a thousand have been returned. Not only can voters register to vote, they can also update their address as well. They also have the opportunity to cast their vote at this time.
"It takes approximately five or ten minutes depending on the line. You can go ahead and register to vote and while we get the application updated then we’ll come back and vote you all at the same time," said Hamill.
