The Zanesville Fire Department is investigating an early Monday morning fire.  It happened at 30-32 Lincoln Street just before 1:30.  Fire investigators say heavy flames were coming from the home when they arrived on the scene.  The owner was awakened by his dog due to the fire and both were able to escape safety. Fire officials estimate the damage at 28-thousand dollars.  The home is considered a total loss.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.  A 1999 Dodge Dakota was also heavily damaged in the blaze.  The Muskingum Valley Red Cross is helping the home owner with food, clothing and temporary shelter.
