The Red Cross encourages you to save a life this holiday season.
Members of the Muskingum Valley Chapter visited the county commissioners Thursday to promote their holiday blood drive. Their annual drive will take place December 27th from 10 until 4 at Secrest Auditorium.
"We talked to the Mayor earlier and we just talked to the county commissioners we’re going to encourage their employees to come down and donate to give the gift of life during the Holiday season. It’s a critical time for us," said Donor Recruitment Representative, Rick Dayton.
In order to have enough supply for their region, the Muskingum Valley Chapter needs to collect blood everyday but they won’t be collecting on Christmas so they need to make up for that.
"It’s a 27 county area, central Ohio region and we are allocated to collect 800 units of blood every day, we supply blood to 42 area hospitals in that 27 county area and it’s needed day in and day out."
