Kids Against Hunger Coming to Zanesville

This weekend the Zanesville community is coming together to feed starving children.

Kids Against Hunger will be in town to package meals to be distributed to local food pantries. Recent graduate of Bishop Rosecrans High School Breana Kelly has spearheaded this event, Breana is passionate about helping others and this was something she knew would be good for the community.

"When she found this organization and saw that they actually do this and pack thousands of meals every other week in Cincinnati she says mom, Zanesville has to experience this," said Breana’s Mother, Laurie Kelly.

Breana has been working on this for the past year with businesses in Zanesville to establish funds and has raised enough to package 70,000 meals.

"Some of the food will stay here locally. Salvation Army is going to benefit, Christ’s Table, Lifewell at West Main and we’re still talking to others so if there are organizations who think that they would like to be the benefactor of some of this, that’s great."

The actual packing of the food will take place Saturday morning at Rolling Plains United Methodist Church. For more information or to volunteer visit
