Let Freedom Walk

Started in 2005, the Let Freedom Run/Walk honors the memory of a fallen marine from our area.

October 20th will mark the 8th annual "Let Freedom Run/Walk" that remembers Sergeant Bradley Harper. Harper was killed in 2005 while serving a tour of duty in Iraq.

"It just brings back memories," said Bradley’s father, Steve Harper. "Of course I think about him every second of every day. I’m just glad my wife and family can do anything we can to keep his memory alive as long as we can in order to maybe help others out as well."

Money raised by the event, which also includes live music, balloon art and activities for kids, will go towards supporting Toys for Tots.

"He always had a heart for kids. When he worked in high school, at the old Longaberger Fitness Center here in Dresden, he worked with a lot of young kids and he even helped to babysit a little bit."

Registration for the walk will take place beginning at 8 a.m. at the American Legion in Dresden. For more information contact Ali Lawrence at (740) 607-6428 or alidawnlawrence@yahoo.com
