Friday is Ohio Manufacturing Day, highlighting the important role manufacturing sector plays in the economy.

The Muskingum County Business Incubator along with the Appalachian Partnership for Economic Growth held their own ceremony to announce a new partnership, appointing a new MCBI field work engineer to connect APEG’s vision to this area and further manufacturing growth in the region.

"To try to build up the profitability of manufacturers by helping them take on technology and productivity systems and train their workers and build business plans that are really going to work in the 21st century," said John Molinaro, President of APEG.

The field engineer, Sherry Stewart, will be meeting with regional manufacturers to assess operations and see what their needs are. Then she will consult a field of networks to provide those services to the manufacturing companies. As field engineer Stewart will continue to emphasize Ohio’s manufacturing abilities.

"Ohio has always been known as a manufacturing state. Southeastern Ohio specifically is home to manufacturers of all sizes but especially small manufacturers and they are really the back bone of our economy," said Sherry Stewart, MCBI Manufacturing Field Engineer.

Ohio State Senator Troy Balderson as well as members of the Chamber of Commerce attended the manufacturing day ceremony.
