November’s featured artist is already well-known around Zanesville.
Paul Emory is a member of the Z.A.A.P. Gallery and the Artist’s Colony of Zaneville. Although he’s most familiar with narrative paintings, his most recent focus has shifted to landscapes. As this month’s featured artist, he wants to do things a little differently in his studio this First Friday.
"We’re going to have live music and we always have normally we have painters painting myself included and I wanted to open up the possiblity of anybody that paints to come down and set their paints up and paint the muscians, paint a stiff life because I know people coming through love to see artists working," said Emory.
Emory has had his gallery for eight years in downtown Zanesville. An artist his entire life, Emory likes the location as it enables more interaction with budding artists.
"It’s great. Especially if you’re going to buy a building, it’s so resonable in our downtown and now with all the galleries getting started and you know it’s a nice camaraderie to have other people buying buildings and having galleries," said Emory.
The Paul Emory Studio is located on Rear Main Street behind the Z.A.A.P. Gallery.
