by George Hiotis on October 4, 2012

A successful and well known Zanesville businessman has died.  Dick Johnson – the longtime owner of Clay City Beverage which operated Pepsi in Zanesville died today at his home in Florida.  Johnson was a philanthropist, served on multiple boards like the United Way and other organizations.  He was also very active in local economic development projects and supported the Boy Scouts and the Carr Center Cake auction to name a few. He sold Clay City Beverage in 1991 and had been living a good portion of the year in Florida during his retirement.  Hillis and Hardwick Funeral home in Zanesville is handling the arrangements which have not yet been finalized.
