The Zanesville South Business Association held their annual Christmas parade Sunday.

The parade has been a part of the community for nearly thirty years. From Clay street to Eaglesticks, community members lined up looking to catch candy and watch the parade go by.

"A lot of small communities aren’t able to support the Christmas holiday with a parade because of financial reason." said Mollie Crooks, Zanesville South Business Association "But we’re just happy to keep the season exciting and be able to provide entertainment for the kids and families and to bring them to our South Zanesville community."

Sixty-five entries took part including a variety of floats, classic cars, motorcycles and many others, which helped make the parade even more exciting, but putting on a parade of this size isn’t a simple task.

"The parade planning actually takes months." said Crooks "We start in the summer looking at probably earlier than that for a theme and then organizing committees. So it does take a lot of hours and a lot of volunteers. "

The theme this year was Retro Rockin’ Christmas. Crooks says they’d like to see the parade grow and hope to see even more businesses get involved next year.
