This year, the community can help brighten a seniors holiday.

Catholic Social Services and the Muskingum County Center for Seniors are working to provide holiday baskets of love to homebound seniors. During the holidays items other than food can make a huge difference in the life of a senior.

"Sometimes seniors can get a few dollars in food stamps they usually don’t get too much but the taxable items you can’t use your food card for and we all know how expensive toiletries are," said Supportive Services Director, Debra Smith.

The seniors enjoy getting their baskets but they’re not the only ones who look forward to it.

"Our home delivery meal drivers come back the days on delivery with smiles on their faces and we have volunteers that deliver and it just it give you a great feeling to be giving something to someone so appreciative of it," said Smith.

Individuals wishing to donate baskets may drop them off at the Catholic Social Services Office or the Muskingum County Center for Seniors. Items will be delivered December 21st.
