The Tri-Valley band boosters hosted their 8th annual Marching Scottie bazaar in Dresden.
The gymnasium at Tri-Valley high school was filled with fifty-two vendors who had everything from holiday gifts to holiday decorations. The event is one of the more popular fundraisers that supports the music program.
"We’ll use it for operation funds." said Band Booster president Steve Starkey. "We’re talking about planning some trips for the kids. We just had a trip to see the Ohio University Marching Band in Ohio Theatre, so it will help defray the costs for that event. We’re also talking about trying to earn some funds to take the kids up to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame."
Starkey says the band is full of talented students who enjoy showing off their skills.
"Band is part of the learning process." he said "I think kids that are in band do well in school. We have a good group of kids, talented group of kids and it’s important that they get out and learn how to be prepared for the world, so hopefully this contributed to that education."
While the band boosters had no set monetary goal in mind, they estimated raising one or two thousand dollars.
