If you would like to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy…we have the perfect way….WHIZ TV will air a benefit concert/telethon Friday night that is being hosted by Matt Lauer on all stations of the NBC television network.

Money collected will be donated to the American Red Cross Relief Efforts. The Red Cross has opened 230 shelters along the East Coast. Donations will help the Red Cross provide assistance for those affected by the massive storm.

"They’ll be putting that toward the shelters, toward feeding and then helping the people get back into their normal lifestyle again," said Muskingum Valley Red Cross Executive Director, Marlene Henderson.

The benefit concert will take place from eight until nine p.m. All donations are welcome.

"We really don’t know the full amount what this is actually going to cost but with over 230 shelters open right now and thousands of people being sheltered, it’s going to take a lot," said Henderson.

To donate people can visit,, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or text the word RED CROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
