Christ’s Table Thanksgiving

Volunteers took time away from their families to help feed the less fortunate.

Christ’s Table served their traditional Thanksgiving meal today. In addition to the 200 meals expected to be served, more than 150 were delivered to the homebound. Although the day is very busy for those involved, volunteers see it as a blessing.

"We know a lot of the community depend on us to be able to have a Thanksgiving meal. We just have the traditional Thanksgiving meal, turkey and dressing and mashed potatoes and gravy and pumpkin pie. We’re blessed with having volunteers, that could come in and help us," said Christ’s Table Kitchen Manager, Tina Williams.

Volunteers are happy to put a smile on the faces of those who can’t be around family this holiday.

"It makes me thankful that we are able to do what we do. For people to be able to have a Thanksgiving dinner and there’s several people that come in that tell us that if we weren’t here they wouldn’t be able to have a Thanksgiving dinner so of course that touches your heart when you know you’re here just for that reason," said Williams.

Christ’s Table plans on serving it’s leftovers tomorrow during it’s regular hours.
