Disaster Relief Donation Center

A local woman wants to help those struggling on the East Coast from Superstorm Sandy.

After hearing so many people in the area wanted to donate toward the relief effort, Anne Marie Kovach worked with local businesses to establish a disaster relief donation center. The center is located between Campbel’ls Foodland and Maysville Laundromat on Maysville Avenue.

"We are simply here to receive the physical supply donations. On our website, which is www.ohiothrives.com on our homepage we have a complete list of the items that have been requested," said Kovach.

Kovach is still in need of a truck to move supplies out to affected areas. She is asking any businesses in the area to contribute to the cause so the supplies can be sent.

"We hope to fill a semi by the time we’re done because so many of the businesses in the area are stepping up, the community is stepping up and again this is just a way to bring everything together."

Anyone interested in donating can drop off items starting Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
