Christmas season is in full swing in downtown Zanesville.
Wednesday, the switch was flipped and the courthouse lit up for the holiday season. Crowds packed in front of the building to watch the Zanesville High School Blue Knights play, the Broadway Babies sing and of course to see Santa roll down main street.
"This really gets things going for me," said spectator Phil Zehms. "Forget Black Friday and all the shopping and stuff. Seeing all the trees, decorations, those things really get me in the mood."
One little girl got to shake hands with the big man from the north and told him what she wanted for Christmas.
"I asked for a princess castle with Cinderella," said an excited Kamy.
Along with the lighting of the courthouse many of the downtown shops remained open as part of the holiday tour and the Festival of Trees held a sneak peek of items up for auction Friday.
