Democrat Jerry Lavy has been re-elected as a Muskingum County Commissioner, winning a tight race with Republican Eddie Brock.

Lavy defeated Brock 17,305 votes to 16,619.  That’s a difference of just 686 votes.  Lavy said it’s a humbling experience to resume his duties as county commissioner.

He said his goal is to continue to find revenue and create jobs here in Muskingum County.

"One thing is to keep Muskingum County financially stable and that was my main point and the focus of this campaign," said Lavy.  "We have been able to do that with these difficult economic times and keep our county financially stable."
