There’s a new place to eat in Zanesville.

Longhorn Steakhouse, on Maple Avenue, cut the ribbon and officially opened for business, Monday. The restaurant has over 100 employees and for Managing Partner David Hayes this is the end to an exciting building process.

"I came to visit when this was just grass and to see the building go up and then all of a sudden see the employees come in and how excited they were when we told them we would hire them, it’s just going to be incredible," said an excited Hayes.

Hayes said the staff has been going through an extensive training process in preparation for the opening. If you are stopping by for a meal, Hayes said there’s one item you’ll really want to try.

"Definitely  want to try our steaks. We have a great seafood, chicken and fish," said Hayes. "Everything is fresh, never frozen, but our steaks are our specialty. It’s what we’re good at, so try that at least once, but the other stuff if you want to come get it we got it too."

Longhorn Steakhouse is open Monday-Thursday and Sunday from 11a.m. to 10p.m. and Friday-Saturday from 11a.m. to 11p.m. They are not open Thanksgiving or Christmas.
