Christmas is now just a few weeks away, and downtown Zanesville is preparing for its arrival…
The 17th annual Miracle on Main Street lighting ceremony and Holiday Tour will take place Wednesday, November 28th at the courthouse. The tour begins at 5 p.m., and the lighting ceremony kicks off a 6:30.
"We’ll have local bands and choirs singing, we’ll have the commissioners and the mayor speaking… And then we’ll have the lighting of the courthouse, and what comes with that also is the arrival of Santa Claus on an antique fire truck," said Membership Services Director Dana Matz.
Maps of the tour route are available at the Welcome Center, or at any participating business in the downtown area. The Festival of Trees preview will also be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m., with the live auction taking place on Friday.
"It’s good, old-fashioned family fun. It’s a nice chance to get out in the downtown, see what’s going on with the downtown businesses and buildings… Check out the lighting. You know it always brings… No matter how old you are, it’s gets you right back to your youth and celebrating christmas with your family and friends."
The auction will broadcast live on AM1240, and the money raised will benefit the Chamber’s economic development efforts. For more information on these events, visit the Chamber’s website.
