The month of November brings with it several events in the Muskingum County area.
The Zanesville South Business Association’s annual Holiday Parade takes place November 18th at 2 p.m.. The deadline for entry registration is November 7th. All parade entries must pre-register. Performing groups, floats and motorcycles are just a few parts of the parade the public will be treated to.
"We are very proud to announce that it’s probably the largest holiday parade in the South Zanesville, or in any of our surrounding communities. It does start at Clay street and it’s about a mile long." said Mollie Crooks, Zanesville South Business Association.
Crooks is also the Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters, which has two events of its own coming up. One of the biggest fundraisers of the year, the annual Buckeye Pep Rally, takes place November 16th at Eaglesticks. There will be a $10,000 giveaway, Urban Meyer and Archie Griffin autographed Ohio State memorabilia, and much more.
"People can make reservations. You can buy individual tickets for $25, $35 at the door, or you can reserve a table of ten for $250." explained Crooks. "Your admission includes getting in, obviously, and food, we have a really nice buffet. All food is donated by area restaurants and businesses."
The second event benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters takes place on November 21st, also at Eaglesticks. It will feature a wing-eating challenge. Contestants are accepting pledges now, and will need your support the day of the event.
