Santa for Seniors

There’s a way for residents of Muskingum County to help older members of our community this holiday season.

For seven years Home Instead Senior Care has teamed up with Walgreen’s and other nursing facilities in our area to help collect Christmas gifts for the elderly in our community that may not otherwise get a gift. 125 seniors are in need of presents this year.

"We have paper ornaments on it with their first name and any gift request they are asking for," said Amy Huddleston owner of Home Instead Senior Care. "Some are as simple as body wash, lotion and we’re hoping that people in the community will stop by Walgreen’s and take an ornament and purchase items."

Huddleston said they love to be able to give back to the community.

"We get some beautiful thank you notes at our office afterwards just saying thank you so much making my holiday," said Huddleston. "It’s a great feeling."

Gifts have to be dropped off by December 7th at Walgreen’s. They can be either wrapped or unwrapped and left under the Christmas tree. They’ll be distributed to area seniors mid-December.
