Sheriff Barker Wins Re-election

One of the biggest races in Perry County involved the race for sheriff. Incumbent William Barker fought off challenger Amy English who is the Junction City Police Chief.

Barker got 7,529 votes and English received 6,880. There were also three county commissioner seats up for grabs.  The winners were Ed Keister, Jim O’Brien and David Freriks.

Other winners included Timothy Wollenberg for clerk of court, Jackie Hoover for county recorder and Melisa Walter for Perry County Treasurer. Voters also passed one big issue by passing the New Lexington School District levy.
