One local organization hosted a fall bazaar to help give back to the community.
Starlight School welcomed in vendors Saturday for their bazaar. The school had a few tables of their own set up to help bring in some extra cash to assist their needs and community needs.
"Our employee Christmas party is coming up, that’s always a big event. We have a summer picnic that we do. Our venture crew does various things with the scouting organization so they’ll use some of that." explained Adult Services Director Larry Wheeler "Also our employee counsel likes to give back the community, so sometimes they will donate to cancer awareness, or cancer causes or various causes that they choose."
Forty-five vendors attended the event, which raised around $1,000.
"We have a lot of community involvement with us, people who like to donate to us so as an organization we like to give back as well." said employment services manager Missy Hartley.
In the past Starlight had a bazaar annually, but this is the first year for the event in quite some time. Based on the turnout of the event, employees say they will likely host the event again next year.
