The November General Election is here, and voters headed to the polls throughout Tuesday in Zanesville as well as the rest of the country.

Poll workers called turnout this morning heavy, steady this afternoon and heavy Tuesday evening. Early Tuesday morning we caught up with some voters who were willing to share their reasons for voting the way they did, and why they believe voting is important.

"I’m mainly Republican, that’s how I voted and I just believe that the change we were promised didn’t happen and things need to be different." said voter Roy Stotts

"I’m not ashamed to be an American, I’m proud to be a voter" said Kelly Brown. "it’s very important to express how you feel."

"I think that everybody should really vote. I’ve been waiting four years for this. It’s very important to do this and be a good citizen and do your part to be a part." added Stotts

WHIZ’s election coverage begins Tuesday at 7 p.m. with NBC News. Local updates will be available throughout Tuesday night. We will also have elections results on AM 1240 and Z-92 radio, and our website.
