Attempted Child Abduction in Heath

by Kelly Choate on December 13, 2012

The Heath Police Department is investigating an attempted child abduction.

It happened on Custer Road around 4:15 p.m. Thursday.  Police said an eight-year-old boy reported that he got off the school bus and was approached by a man in a car.

The subject opened the driver door, offered the boy some candy, and asked the boy to get in the car.  Police said the child refused and ran to his home.  The child said the man got out of the car and told the child to come back.  When the boy refused a second time, the man got back into his vehicle and left the area.

The child described the man as an older white male with a mustache and gray hair.  He has a tattoo on his right arm of a snake, and he was wearing a gray t-shirt and blue jeans.

The man’s vehicle is described as a red two-door hatchback with black rims and a loud exhaust.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Heath Police Department at (740) 522-2141.
