Zanesville’s Christ’s Table soup kitchen was another organization helping to feed the hungry on Christmas. The kitchen is opened Monday through Saturday for lunch and that includes when holidays fall on those days.
Tina Williams, the Kitchen Coordinator at Christ’s Table said, "We are serving a traditional Christmas dinner, turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy and greenbeans. We have some homemade goodies that were donated so we will be serving that today as well."
Williams’ said they were prepared to feed 200-300 mouths this afternoon and without generous donations and volunteers, Christ’s Table would not exist.
"Most of what we do is based on donations from the community. If it wasn’t for the community, we would not be able to keep our doors open. The community has been very very helpful throughout the years, " said Williams.
Many have committed to Williams that without Christ’s Table, they wouldn’t have a hot meal everyday. Anyone in need of a meal can go to the kitchen for lunches.
