A company playing a role in the Utica Shale development could be moving to Muskingum County.

Caimen Energy is considering Zanesville as a host site for its offices. The company already has offices in Canton and Texas. They hope to announce a project soon that will increase the need for offices in our area.

"Our group has looked at Zanesville area in particular for some offices for engineering and construction staff because of the proximity to the Columbus airport and the proximity to the southern part of the play," said Vice President of Business Development for Caimen Energy Brent Breon.

Caimen energy is a mid stream company that acts as an in-between from the well owner to the end user. They’ve currently focused their attention on Noble and Monroe Counties.

"It’s a great opportunity for local business to be able to provide new earning opportunities, to be able to provide services to both the producers of the well and the contractors and companies that are out here to provide services to those producers and gas to make it to market," said Breon.

Breon said the company hopes to makes the decision in the next two to three months.
