The Festival of Trees has come to an end this year.
The annual Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce fundraiser wrapped up Friday night. Hundreds of holiday trees, wreaths and other decorations were up for auction.
"It’s really a very important holiday celebration which is fun but it’s also a matter of community pride and civic pride and we have a hometown pride theme every year for this event and so it not only raises money, not only helps celebrate the holidays but it also showcases all the assets of the community," said Chamber of Commerce President, Tom Poorman.
The money will be used to support small business development. Participation is what makes the festival a success every year.
"We get over 200 entries every year and they all represent different organizations, companies or assets, features, attractions that the community has to offer so it’s really a great place where you can see in one location all kinds of terrific things that outline the community.," said Poorman.
The numbers are in, and the Festival of Trees raised $43,860. On top of that, the Graham and Graham Law Firm donated $2,000.
