Christmas Eve didn’t stop people from hitting the gym for a last minute holiday workout.
The Fieldhouse in Zanesville had a steady stream of people coming in starting at 5 a.m. Some people were travelers coming through town, other were family that are home for the holidays.
"It’s a habit. It’s just something you got to get used to. You can be sick and you still think you got to go outside and run and it’s just in your blood," said Director of Operations Jim Fraunfelter. "You got to continue it and one day, just because it’s Christmas, you still got to get it in."
While, it’s easy to indulge in sweet treats and lots of food, Fraunfelter, said take everything in moderation.
"I don’t know if there is a trick to eating, but the biggest thing is moderation. If you’re going to eat, 3-4 small meals a day and keep liquids in you."
If you’re waiting until the New Year to start your workout routine, Fraunfelter said to start with a cardio routine of walking, running or swimming before you get into weight lifting.
