Jobs and Family Services Says Goodbye to Employee

After years of working at Muskingum County Job and Family Services the deputy director is retiring.

Vince Durant has been with the organization for the last 34 years, Thursday a retirement party was held. Durant started his career as a case manager and worked his way up to the administrator position with child support enforcement. Durant says it’s been one of the best experiences of his life.

"Your job is about helping people and it’s hard to have a higher calling then helping people and it’s just been a pleasure to me to see in many capacities dedicated to folks were to not only doing that but doing it well," said Durant.

Thanks to his career Durant met his wife who is also retiring from Job and Family Services. She says it was hard for them both to say goodbye but after all these years, it’s time for a new chapter.

"We’re hoping to do some traveling, our children are both in college they’re both living on their own so we’re empty nesters and we’re getting used to that," said Durant.
