The Rotary Club of Zanesville had it’s annual Christmas party this afternoon for local school children. The tradition is 40 years running to bring children to Adornetto’s for pizza, music and a visit from Santa!
John Parker, the President of the Rotary Club explained, "Children from the Zanesville City School System and bring them to Adornettos’s and have a party for them and have Santa Claus come and he gives them presents. It’s all about the kids today. These kids are all hearing impaired, speech impaired or some kind of physical impairment, so its a really nice event"
Santa passed out personalized gifts to each 58 students in attendance and posed for a picture with them.
Terry Martin, the Superintendent Zanesville City Schools said, "Every year you see the faces of the children as they see Santa Claus, they hear some of the songs, they get to see their friends and then of course the presents. It makes it all worth their effort. We can only say thank you Rotarians for the continued great service you do in our schools and greater Zanesville. "
The Rotary’s 89 members made the event possible and bought the gifts for the children.
