Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says charges have been filed in connection with Tuesday’s bomb threat at Maysville High School.

Sheriff Lutz says a 13-year-old Maysville Junior High School student is in the Juvenile Detention Center facing an inducing panic charge, which is a felony in the second degree.

"This charge is a little bit more stiffer because of it being a school where the bomb threat was called in at," said Sheriff Matt Lutz.

Sheriff Lutz says his investigators along with Maysville’s Director of Safety, Ric Roush, worked together to find the person responsible for the threat and had the suspect in custody last night.

"Between them giving us some information and some information that we obtained, followed up on that part of it and was able to get us to a suspect and then of course we did some interviews and we were able to get the confession," said Sheriff Lutz.

Sheriff Lutz says the suspect will now wait to make an appearance in front of a judge in juvenile court.
