The Muskingum County Hunger Network is in need of help from area businesses and organizations.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Committee is holding a city-wide food drive now until January 21st to help fulfill the food pantry’s needs. The committee is asking every church, business and organization in Zanesville to collect canned food at their location to help feed the hungry.

"What we’ll do is pick it up, and take it to Christ’s Table and we’ll divide it like we do Operation Feed among all the pantries," said Josephine Gillard.

The Hunger Network is an emergency food bank that consists of fifteen food pantries, two special needs pantries and four hot meal programs. More and more people are turning to these programs to survive and the network needs donations to continue to provide to those in need.

"We’ve had donations that we have stacked that people have already started giving so we want the community to give a little," said Gillard.
