Coroner Makes Changes

by Nichole Hannahs on January 22, 2013

The new Muskingum County Coroner said his first weeks in office have been busy.

Doctor Charles Feicht said it has been hectic setting up their office in the county’s Emergency Management Building. He’s also been working with the county to set up a computer system so that information can be easily transferred between his office, law enforcement and the prosecutor.

"It’s a big step forward in being able to coordinate our activities with the rest of the county," said Dr. Feicht.

Besides Dr. Feicht there are four other members of his team. These individuals are known as Coroner Investigators and act on behalf of his office to help look into manners of death.

"These are highly trained people with intensive healthcare backgrounds. We have three experienced ER nurses and one very experienced paramedic and they’ve already been on the job. They’ve already started to work and are doing a great job," said Feight.

In his short time in office the doctor said his office has been out on several calls of people who’ve died in their homes, but so far haven’t been to any criminal cases.
