The call center received over one-thousand calls last month in regards to income, medical assistance and housing needs. But the main focus in December was their Holiday Help-Christmas List, which assisted families with gifts for Christmas.

"We were able to serve 133 children from 64 different families. That’s really up substantially from last year and my focus this month is really to thank all those folks who participated," said 2-1-1 Call Center Manager, Audrey Foster.

Of the calls received last month, food pantries and hot meal programs remained the most requested item.

"It’s always at the top of our list, and for December it was about 29-30 percent of the phone calls that we take are about food, meals," said Foster.

The call center services Muskingum, Perry and Morgan County. It is available 24 hours day, seven days a week.
