The Mayor of Zanesville wants the face and direction of the a local board to change.
At the Muskingum County Commissioners Office Mayor Jeff Tilton spoke on the need to replace some members of the Muskingum County Convention Facilities Authority Board.
"There were some concerns about some of the people that were put on in the past that the city shouldn’t have put on," said Mayor Jeff Tilton. "I just wanted to talk to the commissioners about and ask questions and put my concerns forward to them."
The Mayor said since 1988 the county has had a 4 percent bed tax in place that money goes towards the convention facilities board. Mayor Tilton said he’d like the money to be distributed to other facilities in our area.
"I would like to it spread out Secrest Auditorium," said Mayor Tilton. "Other venues within the county."
The commissioners will call a meeting so that the city, county and village mayors can submit names to be appointed to the board for those whose terms are up.
