The Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce wants to celebrate business in our area.
The Chamber through the Muskingum Growth Partnership is accepting nominations for "Awards for Community and Economic Success" or ACES. The ACES celebrate the businesses contribution to economic development in 2012. Organizers said it’s important in an economic climate like ours to celebrate success.
"It’s very easy to assume there’s nothing going on," said Chamber President Tom Poorman. "We find that’s actually not the case. There’s a fair amount of business investment that’s still taking place. Would we like to see more? Yes. Would we like to see a lower unemployment? You bet, but there’s still some positive events taking place in the business communities."
This year nomination forms can be found on the Chamber of Commerce’s website along with information about the awards.
"It’s more accessible to everybody. It’s easier for the business to complete and it also puts it out there for the world to see and so that’s very exciting to us too," explained Poorman. "It helps promote our community and this is a community in which businesses thrive other businesses can see what we’re doing as a community and investments being made."
The ACES will be given out at the Chamber’s annual Spring Break Event on March 22nd.
